Why follow-ups matter
80% of B2B sales require at least 5 touchpoints, yet most salespeople give up when the first message goes unanswered. Following up is a professional habit rather than harassment.
The right timing
Your first follow-up should land 3 to 5 days after the initial message. Send it earlier and you come across as pushy; leave it longer and the prospect has forgotten who you are. Spruce plans these follow-ups for you in Setting.
The right tone
A good follow-up adds something. Do not simply repeat your first message. Share a piece of content that helps, ask a relevant question, or pick up on recent news about the prospect's company.
How many follow-ups?
We recommend 2 to 3 follow-ups maximum on LinkedIn, spaced 4 to 7 days apart. Once 3 follow-ups have gone unanswered, switch channels or flag the prospect for later.
How Spruce automates follow-ups
In Spruce you define the sequence yourself, with the number of follow-ups, the delays and the content. The tool sends them automatically and stops the moment the prospect replies. Everything is recorded in Setting, so you can see where things stand.
